June 28th was the opening reception of my solo show at the Union League Club of Chicago, "Stone and Water: Layered works in meaning and method". the reception was well attended and I was happy to give an artists talk during the evening.
Here are a few Photos taken during the evening by photographer Doug Vanderhoof.
Overall, it was a festive evening and I am deeply grateful to Susan Aurinko and her committee for inviting me to show at this historic venue. Thanks also to Doug Vanderhoof for his documentation, to my friends and family as well as the ULCC members who came to support me, and to Sally Metzler, the director of the ULCC collection for her enthusiastic and successful sales efforts.
Additionally, this summer I was honored to be featured by Voyage Chicago, the online arts and lifestyle magazine. The interview is part of their Thought- provoker series. In answering their questions I explain my story of how I came to be an artist and talk about my inspiration and methods. several of my pieces are featured as well.
